About TechDailyAI
Plain-English help for getting more out of AI tools and smart-home tech, written for people who don't work in tech.
Most tech writing assumes you already speak the language. I kept watching friends and family give up on tools that could genuinely help them, not because the tools were bad, but because every guide read like it was written for engineers.
TechDailyAI is my attempt to fix that. I write the explainer those people actually needed: clear, tested, and honest about what's worth your time and what isn't. If a feature is overhyped, you read that here. If a cheaper tool does the job, you read that too.
What you'll find here
The site covers four things I use and care about every week — how Matter, Thread, Zigbee, and Home Assistant actually work, set up without the headaches; honest reviews and side-by-sides of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and the rest, tested in real work; the small tool stacks freelancers and one-person businesses lean on, with real time savings; and how to write prompts that get usable answers, with a free, growing prompt library.
How I work
Nothing here is guesswork dressed up as advice. I test tools on an ordinary laptop with an ordinary internet connection, read the primary sources, and check the numbers before they reach the page. When I reviewed Notion AI, for instance, I ran the same prompts through it and ChatGPT on the same afternoon on the same tasks, so the comparison was apples to apples — not screenshots pulled from two different sessions. You can read the full method on the Editorial Process page.
A note on how the site stays free
Some links on this site are affiliate links, and the site shows display ads. That's what keeps everything free to read. Neither one changes what I recommend. If the budget pick wins, the budget pick wins, and I'll say so plainly. You can read the details in the Disclaimer.

I test AI productivity tools and home-automation tech the way most people actually use them. Not in a lab, but on an ordinary desk with an ordinary internet connection, figuring out what genuinely saves time.

If you want to start somewhere, the prompt library is free and takes about two minutes to get something useful out of. Or go straight to whatever brought you here.
